Development on Stor-Age Self Storage's new flagship store in Roeland Street in the Cape Town CBD began in April 2010. The new store which is being financed by Nedbank Corporate Property Finance will be constructed by Faircape Construction, with the internal self storage fit-out completed by Steel Self Storage Systems (“4S4”), a local supplier and fit-out specialist operating within the self storage sector.

The new R80m + store, designed by MLB Architects in conjunction with Stor-Age Self Storage, will be the first ever to be sited in the Central Business District of Cape Town and the first of its kind to be situated in such a high end location.

The new store will occupy the 4,500 m2 Renault car dealership site at the top of Roeland Street, which is opposite the fire station. This means that it will be particularly well suited to serve Eastern City and City Bowl residents in such suburbs as Tamboerskloof, Fresnaye, Oranjezicht, Gardens, Vredehoek, Woodstock, Observatory and of course the city bowl itself.

The 10,000 square metre building will consist of over 7,000 square metres of self storage space over four floors. The modern state-of-the-art self storage facility will comprise upwards of 700 self storage units ranging in size from three to thirty square metres.

Construction on the new store began during April 2010 and it will be branded and managed by Stor-Age Self Storage, South Africa's leading and largest self storage brand and management company.
